Welcome to North Otago Drone Solutions, where innovation meets precision. Owned and operated by Jake Greenslade, we are setting new standards in agricultural and commercial drone services across North Otago. With a passion for efficiency and sustainability, Jake and his team are here to offer tailored solutions that maximise your yield while minimising environmental impact.

Fully CAA Compliant for Your Peace of Mind
Safety and compliance are at the heart of everything we do. We proudly meet all Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations, ensuring that our operations are not only effective but also adhere to the highest safety standards. Additionally, we follow strict protocols for chemical handling, giving you confidence in our ability to manage pesticide, fungicide, herbicide, and fertiliser applications safely and accurately.
Why Drones are the Future of Agriculture
Agricultural drones represent a leap forward in farming technology. Traditional methods often involve heavy machinery, long hours, and substantial labour. In contrast, drones offer a more flexible and efficient alternative that benefits farmers, businesses, and the environment. Here’s how drones can elevate your operations:
Precision & Accuracy: The XAG P100 Pro drones we use are equipped with SOL spray tanks and granular spreaders that achieve one-centimetre GPS/RTK accuracy. This high precision ensures even coverage of treatments, reducing waste and optimising results.
Adaptable to Any Terrain: Whether you have flat plains or steep hill country, our drones excel in all landscapes. Advanced navigation and stability controls allow them to operate seamlessly, even in challenging environments.
Speed & Efficiency: Our drones can cover up to 12 hectares per hour (depending on water rates) when broad-acre spraying, or spread over 1.1 tons of material per hour during fertiliser applications. This speed not only saves time but also reduces labour costs significantly.
Reduced Crop Damage: Traditional machinery can cause soil compaction and crop damage. By using drones, we eliminate this risk, preserving soil health and crop integrity.
Accessibility: Our drones can reach difficult terrain and hard-to-access areas, including wet or slippery conditions, where traditional machinery might struggle or be unsafe to use.
Focusing on Sustainability
Sustainability is a core value at North Otago Drone Solutions. By using drone technology, we not only enhance the efficiency of farm operations but also promote a greener approach. Our drones require less water for spray applications due to Controlled Droplet Application (CDA) nozzles, which use downward pressure from the propellers to push treatments deeper into the plant canopy. This means better coverage with less water usage, reducing the overall environmental footprint.
Additionally, the ability to manually spot-spray specific areas helps cut down on chemical usage, minimising impact on surrounding ecosystems while maintaining optimal crop protection.
Diverse Services for Your Needs
We offer a wide range of services, from broad-acre and spot spraying to fertiliser spreading and over-seeding. Our drones are also perfect for more specific tasks like roof cleaning for residential, commercial, and farm buildings. The benefits of drone-based cleaning include safe, scaffold-free operations and even coverage across entire roofs, glasshouses, and solar panels.
